Local-first desktop AI interview assistant
Hear the question. Find your answer.
OnCue is a local-first desktop AI interview assistant for macOS and Windows. It combines resume optimization, voice mock interviews, and a live copilot that recognizes questions from system audio.
An AI interview assistant, from preparation to practice
Resume optimization: connect your experience to the role
Import a PDF or DOCX resume and compare it with a target role and job description. Review suggestions for clearer wording and relevant keywords while keeping your projects, responsibilities, and results accurate. After confirming the changes, export a single-column Word resume for applications and interview preparation.
Mock interviews: answer aloud, then review
Set a target role, interview type, difficulty, and question count, then practice by voice using your resume and job requirements. Review your answers and feedback to find unclear explanations or missing examples before another practice round. Feedback supports preparation; it does not predict hiring decisions.
Live copilot: turn a question into an answer outline
Capture questions from a remote meeting through system audio and review an outline for each one. Add a question manually if transcription misses something. Check your audio source and permissions first; system audio on macOS requires version 14.2 or later. Outlines cannot verify your experience. Use assistance only where interview rules allow it.
Who can use OnCue for interview preparation?
Students and first-time applicants
Find useful examples from coursework, internships, and projects. Practice introductions and project explanations aloud to build a clearer structure for your answers.
Career changers and experienced candidates
Review your resume against a new job description, separate existing experience from knowledge gaps, and practice relevant questions. Keep the facts accurate instead of simply swapping keywords.
Candidates in remote interviews
When assistance is permitted, test meeting audio before the interview and use outlines alongside your own experience. Network conditions, the audio environment, and the selected model can affect results.
Local-first storage and cloud processing
Resumes, saved recordings, and interview history stay on your device by default. Local-first does not mean fully offline: cloud speech and AI services receive the content needed to perform the task.
With bring-your-own-key (BYOK), your device sends requests directly to the selected provider, without the OnCue gateway. That provider’s terms govern data handling and retention.
Hosted speech and AI requests pass through the OnCue gateway. The gateway does not store audio, transcripts, prompts, resumes, or answers. Account, order, and usage records support the service and billing; providers still process requests under their own terms.
The desktop client is free to download and requires sign-in. Hosted use is billed in credits; custom model and speech keys are free, and your chosen provider charges for its usage. Use assistance only where interview rules allow it.
