AI mock interviews: practice speaking for your target role
Before a real interview, rehearse against the role and its requirements. OnCue lets you choose the interview type, difficulty, and number of questions, answer aloud, and review your response structure and weak spots afterward.
Starting a practice session
- Enter your target role and, optionally, a company; select a general, technical, or behavioral interview.
- Set the difficulty, question count, and language. Add a resume and job description to make questions more relevant.
- Answer in voice mode, then review the questions, responses, and feedback to decide what to practice next.
The screenshot shows the mock interview setup. Questions and feedback depend on your inputs and selected model.
What to practice
Focus on explaining your experience clearly: set the context and your role, explain the tradeoffs, then close with verifiable results. Practice feedback can reveal weak spots but cannot predict a real interview outcome.
How data is handled
Resumes and practice history are stored on your device. If you use cloud speech or AI models, the content needed for transcription and generation goes to the selected provider or through the hosted OnCue gateway.
What to prepare for practice
Start with the role you are targeting. You can also add a company, resume, and job description if you have them. Pick the most important requirements in the job description and identify real projects that show those skills. That gives you a way to judge whether an answer fits the role, beyond whether it sounds fluent.
How to use the review
Read each response alongside its feedback and choose one thing to improve: missing context, a vague description of your contribution, or a result without evidence. In the next practice session, answer again with a more specific example and check that it still reflects your real experience. Model feedback is practice guidance, not a hiring prediction.
